In addition, HP reported that it plans to announce that it will discontinue operations for webOS devices, specifically the TouchPad and webOS phones. HP will continue to explore options to optimize the value of webOS software going forward.

I never owned a web os device, but I still sad that they will bw gone. I think it kept Android on it's toes.

When I read that HP bought Palm I knew that they would be too stupid to make it a success. But I didn't think that they wouldn't even try. Killing a device only seven weeks after initial launch is a bit early, isn't it? That's just not enough time if you have to build up a market against two strong competitors.

I do not understand this - how can a big company in tech like HP NOT have cards in mobile? This seems like a very short-sighted decision to me.

Maybe HP was paid by the competition to kill webOS? ;) I was thinking about to buy a TouchPad but now i don't need to think about it anymore. It's sad...
