The Nokia N8 gets a lot nicer with the Anna update
by Volker Weber
A QUERTY keyboard in portrait mode, split screen editing so you know your context, and even Umlauts on the German keyboard. I like that.
The browser is a lot better, but not good enough for a decent Google+ experience. I expected more. Still, this is a very good update and breath of fresh air for you N8 users out there.

OK, so can one now switch lanuages with Symbian Anna? My N8 (pre-Anna) supports English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian an Dutch - but no German. Not even as a download. :-(
My wife loves the minor an major improvements on her Anna N8.
Of course, I should probably install: http://forum.dailymobile.se/index.php?topic=52544.0
Daniel, das hängt von deinem Product Code ab. Es gibt mehr als 180 verschiedene N8, wenn ich mich recht erinnere.
Ah, I don't care about the interface and the language used by the phone. I just need a German keyboard. It was really disappointing to see that this can not be added easily.
Daniel, the keyboard changes with the writing language.
Agree, also makes the E7 nicer. I am only thinking about giving it a fresh install.
I don't mind the portrait keyboard, I use Swype in landscape mode. And it supports the languages I need: English, German, and Thai. I actually like the T9-input in portrait mode, it is just like typing blind. My clumsy fingers have a problems with the tiny keys...
I have Swype on my N8, but it doesn't support German. Because the phone doesn't support German. :-(
@Volker who said: "Daniel, the keyboard changes with the writing language."
Yes, I know. Another mistake in product development. I switch languages a lot, from English to German to French and back. The N8 is high-end phone for people who travel a lot (hence the pentaband 3G). How surprising that they might use different languages from one message to the next or even in the same message!
It should be very very easy to change a keyboard layout.
As for the interface of the phone: I don't care so much. The last month and a half it was French. Before it was English.
Not a problem on my N8. Daniel, instead of complaining about Nokia's mistakes, could you please dial *#0000# and tell us your Product Code?
@ Daniel
If you have problems with German and Swype, let me know. It works, just download the dictionary for German Language.
