The great RIM app giveaway

by Volker Weber

WATERLOO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 17, 2011) - Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ:RIMM)(TSX:RIM) announced today that a selection of premium apps worth a total value of more than US $100 will be offered free of charge to subscribers as an expression of appreciation for their patience during the recent service disruptions. The apps will be made available to customers over the coming weeks on BlackBerry App World will continue to be available until December 31, 2011.

Mostly games. The cynic in my says, to entertain you while you are waiting for your messages. But in truth, my BB once again is my mainstay while I am away.

That was my first reaction: Great, so BB users will have something to do when the infrastructure fails again.

Your BB is apperantly not the new 9900: It looses its steam after only half a workday... Where have all of RIM's virtues gone?

Peter Meuser, 2011-10-18

My 9900 easily survives a day. Even on heavy use ( like today ).

You might have an app running that consumes the battery.

Oliver you are right: Maybe I just should not use the phone, then it will go through the day easily :-)
