My money is in developing for both platforms, selling a vertical solution to customers and using the App Store and Android Market purely as distribution channels. Apple's App Store is a big success for sure, but how much of that $3.4 billion revenue is in its long tail?

"Although Android is likely to grow its smartphone market share faster, Apple will probably maintain a 70%+ share of mobile app dollars spent over the next 3 or 4 years."

If it's 70/30 currently, then of course it must be 70/30 for the next 3 to 4 years ... was there an iPhone 4 years ago? I don't think so ... stupid argument and the author even writes that Android ist growing faster, so the smart thing would be to support both if not all plattforms.
