This is my current top 3

by Volker Weber

I am keeping my Symbian updated, I am using an Android phone weekly, and I am trying abandoned platforms like the Meego-powered N9. But there is always a top 3 of phones that I rely on.

  1. iPhone 4S. Unsurprisingly, the iPhone keeps the top post. Excellent camera, software for everything that needs software, excellent build quality and design.
  2. Lumia 800. Best "phone phone". More fun than the iPhone. Not as delicate, as in "falls without breaking". Fast camera access through extra button on the side.
  3. BlackBerry 9900. Life-saving parachute. Spotty coverage (Deutsche Bahn), long days, lots of messages, the BB gets the job done. Best keyboard out there, good camera, usable browser.

All three of them are excellent on Twitter and Facebook. Only the iPhone works well with Google+. They are all very well built. They feel as expensive as they are.

Yes, no Android in the top three. The best Android phones are too big for me. My favorite is the Nexus S, but that has the #4 spot. WebOS is gone, as far as I am concerned, and with Meego vs Windows Phone, Nokia made the right choice.

Hans, ja, das macht Spaß. Und man lernt, einen ganzen Zoo davon zu syncen.

How to you manage to keep all your daily business phones in sync regarding contacts, calendering or any other informatin you like to keep in sync?

I use ActiveSync against a Google account. Works a treat.

I understand the specific appeal of the BB Device, however the need to carry both a Win7 Phone, and the iPhone 4S does not really come across as very obvious.

That's probably because I did not try to tell that story.

Volker Weber, 2011-12-05

You didn't try to tell the story of the dual carry -- Win7 phone and iPhone. But I'd love to hear it.

marnie webb, 2011-12-05

There is no story. I carry only one at a time.
