Belkin Camera Grip: Second Look

As it turns out, I am not as happy with the Belkin Camera Grip as I thought I would be. Mechanically it's brilliant. But the software sucks.

When you insert the Grip for the first time, the iPhone jumps into the App Store and offers you a free download: Belkin LiveAction. Try it out. It should work without the grip. LiveAction lets you shoot photos and videos with two onscreen buttons. If you have the grip, those onscreen controls disappear and you use the two hardware buttons on the grip.

LiveAction saves your photos and videos to its own library. If you shoot dozens of photos you have to go into this library and hit share. Then you tap on every single photo before it lets you export those items to the camera roll. Which defies the purpose of making your photo shooting effortless. On the upside, you can share directly into Facebook and email. On the downside, the grip does not work with any other photo or video app.

Meh.

Ok, dann ist der Griff leider doch nix für meine Jackentasche. Danke fürs Testen.
