You will need either a Lync 2010 server or a Office365/Lync Online account. Key features:

  1. View colleagues’ availability in real time and select the best way to communicate - initiating an instant message (IM), email, or a phone call.
  2. Connect to Lync conference calls with a single touch, without requiring long numeric passcodes or conference numbers.
  3. Make and receive calls using your Enterprise Voice (Lync ID) number only, so you can connect with others using a single, consistent identity.

I will be adding links as they become available:

As far as I know there will be a BlackBerry version, too.

Not from Microsoft, according to this product page.

However:

Partner-developed mobile clients will be available for other smartphone platforms.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that link. I only had the info from this tweet and a colleague of mine confirmed it for BlackBerry and I assumed it would be a client published by Microsoft. But I guess in this case the client will come from RIM.

Thanks for the heads up. I added the link (without the /us/ part, so that it works in all shops.
