It's remember me the launch of Windows 95.

Nice

Alex Hernandez, 2012-06-20

Which was a very successful launch. It killed OS/2.

Volker Weber, 2012-06-20

I always thought, IBM killed OS/2 itself ;-)

Sad that the demo unit failed, but wow, impressive performance by the presenter.

Hanno Zulla, 2012-06-20

At least they had a backup. Could have been worse!

In my previous comment to Surface I judged Microsofts strategy as not promising yet.
Here is one of the reasons: Forget the not responding GUI in the presentation, can happen and I feel sorry for the presenter.
What's obvious is, that in contradiction to some expectations, the most mentioned term was 'entertainment' not 'Office'.
Is Microsoft trying to compete with the Apple-story in general?
In order to not being 'just a copy' they need to convince customers with a better/more common Office-environment. Entertainment will be the harder way to go ...

Aber das Problem sehr professionell überspielt!

Harald Gaerttner, 2012-06-21

It's running an OS which is still in beta.
