Wikipedia: Osborne effect
by Volker Weber
The Osborne effect is a term referring to the unintended consequence of the announcement of a future product ahead of its availability and its impact upon the sales of the current product.
Applied to Nokia:
- Announce a switch to Windows Phone, killing Symbian sales
- Windows Phone 8 announcement, months before shipping any devices

Juni: The Final Reckoning: Burning Platforms Memo Damaged Nokia: Wiped out $13B revenues, Destroyed $4B profits in just 12 months. Ganz schön bitter, was da mit Nokia geschieht.
