Pre and Pixi to be left behind
by Volker Weber
For Open webOS we are aiming for support on future hardware platforms where SoC’s support Linux 3.3+ kernel and where open source replacements for proprietary components are integrated. Existing devices cannot be supported because of those many proprietary components, including graphics, networking and lack of drivers for a modern kernel (but of course, there is the Community Edition for those interested in improving the TouchPad).

HP also judges Pre 3- and TouchPad-customers not worth to support!
But if there is no device how can we make use of Open webOS?

@Christian: It's their way to prove no interest in the market. Right after that they can and will cease any investments for not deniable reasons.
I wonder who (and when) will let them know, that this might be not the best strategy to keep up with the market makers in a mobile world ...
To say it with vowe, at the moment they are loosing a mission, but without having a real captain aboard, chances are good for crash-landing the whole vessel!
