Biggest Street View update ever

Today we’re making our Street View coverage more comprehensive than ever before by launching our biggest ever update--doubling our number of special collections and updating over 250,000 miles of roads around the world. We’re increasing Street View coverage in Macau, Singapore, Sweden, the U.S., Thailand, Taiwan, Italy, Great Britain, Denmark, Norway and Canada. And we’re launching special collections in South Africa, Japan, Spain, France, Brazil and Mexico, among others.

When it was introduced, I found it funny how those houses actually attract more attention than the visible ones.

Being a former native of Germany I really don't understand what the problem is having a random picture of your house, business or apartment building on the internet. Now, as long its not a live picture :)
Now, do I agree they should collect WiFi data or anything like that while cruising the streets - NO.
What is especially fun is that the Google persons name that posted that sounds quite German.
