When I talked to Alistair Rennie at Lotusphere 2012, he said how enterprise software vendors can reconstruct and rethink interfaces. Jump to 4:30, if you don't want to hear the whole interview.
The new Connections clients on Android and iOS show some of that work. They make it really easy to get started. And there is no "enterprise delay". Support for the iPhone 5 and iOS 6 included.
