FAQ: What is my main phone?

I often get asked what my "main phone" is. People are looking for a recommendation. The real answer is that I would not recommend any phone over the others. Everybody is looking for something different. Apple iPhone 5, BlackBerry Z10, Nokia Lumia 920, they are all excellent. You will be happy with either one.
Yes, there is no Android phone in that list. I cannot find one that would be pure and good enough. The Nexus 4 would have a chance, but its camera isn't useful for me. Does that mean you should not get an Android? Of course not.
So which is my main phone? Currently (and ever since I had it) it's the Lumia 920. Why? There are a lot of small reasons: best camera, wireless charging, solid as a rock, excellent screen, Nokia Music, HERE, Skydrive (yes, Skydrive!). The interesting thing is wireless charging. At first I thought this was a gimmick. But once you get used to it, there is no way back.
And then there are people that say, if it was only running Android. What I can tell you is this: if there were two Lumias, one of them with Android, I would still want the one I have.

Same here, thanks. Got my wife a white Lumia 920, this thing is so darn beautiful. I maybe prefer it over my black one. The Lumia 920 with Windows Phone is pure aesthetics.
Just for sure, that nobody thinks, Nokia invented a smartphone with wireless charging.
Look at the good old Palm/HP Pre 3, years ago....

Just out of interest: Are there technical reasons you would still prefer an WP8 Lumia over one with Android? Or is it just because of Googles' recent behaviour?
Only technical reasons. I prefer WP8.
In Sachen pure and good enough... ich finde die Nexus-Geräte nicht schön und habe leichte Probleme mich von Google und einigen Lösungen bei Android zu lösen. Ich benutze ein HTC OneX und ein Lumia 920. Meiner Frau habe ich ein Lumia 820 "aufgeschwatzt" und es ist das erste Smartphone, das sie wirklich akzeptiert hat.
However, ich glaube, sobald es für das HTC One ein AOSP-Rom gibt, wäre das ein Gerät, das du behalten würdest.
Was die Lösungen betrifft, ich benutze meine Geräte immer auch im Auto, mit Brodit-Aktiv-Haltern funktioniert das auch recht gut. Während das Lumia im Auto erst funktionieren wollte, nachdem ich eine Freisprecheinrichtung dazu gekauft habe, benötigte das OneX nur eine Klinke zum Radio. Das Lumia hat manchmal die Eigenschaft, warum auch immer, am Ladegerät sich bei der Navigation zu entladen, das OneX ist hinterher immer geladen. Für das OneX gibt es Poweramp, den besten Music-Player, den ich kenne und einen CarMode, beides vermisse ich beim Lumia sehr.

Hast Du es irgendwie geschafft, über das Nokia-Headset Siri auf einem iPhone zu aktivieren? Ich habe mir das Ding als Kopfhörer angeschafft. Wenn es jetzt aber auch noch Siri könnte, wäre das perfekt. Wenn nicht...was solls.
Das habe ich nicht probiert. Zumal das Lumia ja auch kein Siri hat.
iPhone verbunden. Linken mittleren Knopf zwei Sekunden gehalten. "Hallo Siri" - "Hallo vowe".
Dafür hast Du mich jetzt geweckt?
hmm wecken wollte ich dich nicht. sorry. bei mir geht das nicht. so blöd bin ich auch wieder nicht. aber danke, nun weiss ich, dass hier irgendwas nicht stimmt. und gute nacht.
Es steht im Handbuch. Thema: Voice Dialing. Siri reagiert bei jedem Headset auf dieses Bluetooth-Kommando. Voice Dialing geht aber nicht in jeder Situation, z.B. nicht, wenn die Musik läuft oder wenn Du in einem Call bist.
