Viceroy Yas Marina

Viceroy across Yas Marina

The Viceroy Yas Marina is a spectacular five star hotel and surprisingly affordable, as are flights with Etihad to Abu Dhabi. All photos shot with the Lumia 1020. Straight off the camera, no edits at all.

Und, ne Runde auf der Rennstrecke gedreht? Und die Ferrari World besucht?
Hammer Hotel, Hammer Fotos. Ich bin echt neidisch.

Did you inquire about room rates during the F1 race?

Dan Sickles, 2013-10-28

Nice, thanks for sharing!

I was in Abu Dhabi & Dubai for a week last month. Temperature 43 deg celcius. Best to visit in mid November - late February, when temps fall to more comfortable level. Winter gets heavy fogs though, so watch out when driving.

Ian, the weather switched to "Winter" just 10 days ago. When we went to the desert, it was around 30. Hot, but not unbearable.

Dan, during the Formula 1 event, everything is different. You don't rent rooms, you buy F1 packages.

Manfred, nein, keine Ferrari World. Das ist nicht so mein Ding.

I will arrive again in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, but unfortunately not for the F1 race. Last time i had a room oppisite the reace track at Crown Plaza Yas Island. The rates for the F1 race are six times as high as the normal rate (yes, i asked). But it was booked out anyway.

Ferrari World is not bad, the Formula Rossa rollercoaster especially. That is also the only one with significant waiting times, besides that it is really empty. Fun for one day, if you like it, but for my taste too much Ferrari centric (but that was to be expected of course).

Wow - just wow, great quality of the photos. Lumia is becoming more and more appealing.

I spent a few days in Abu Dhabi recently and I must say, it wasn't what I expected. Everything seemed so artificial. They should rename the place to 'Coming Soon'. And I thought Dubai was bad.
