Excellent idea. Should be made mandatory with all car makers.
Voice control for cars is the way forward.
Seriously? Imho that's a mess! People would set something without ever knowing all the time. Plus it is nowhere near enough for the controls needed.
I agree that the current approach is not optimal. Perfectly placed hardware switches are most efficient, imho. Problem is, that there are too many functions in cars nowadays for switches - so we ended up the way it is.
Solche Interfaces funktionieren nur dann gut, wenn sie wie im Video benutzt werden: auf dem Tisch liegend und man muss nicht gleichzeitig auf die Strasse achten.
Auch wenn es stylisch aussieht - wenn man das Ergonomen zeigt, bekommt man harsches Feedback und das zu recht!
Ich stelle mir grade vor wie meine Mutter versucht damit ihren Lieblings Radio Sender einzustellen ...
Nette Idee und auch sehr stylisch, aber ich bevorzuge noch gutes altes haptisches Feedback. Ein Kippschalter oder ein Drehregler mit Rasten, so das ich merke wenn ich was verstellt habe. Zumindest dann wenn ich etwas neben bei mache und mich primär auf den Verkehr konzentrieren soll.
Terrible idea. Multi-touch is totally impractical for the fraction of my attention that I can give to operating controls whiles driving.
This is broken in different ways. I am not an UI guy, but just two examples:
You can't see in advance what you are changing. "Is two fingers for A/C or was it frequency?". In a car you cannot afford scrolling through help screens.
Selecting different functions by the number of fingers does not really scale well. Toes, anyone? :-)
Habe selten so eine Fehleischätzung von multitouch gesehen, wie in diesem Video.
Fehlt eigentlich nur noch 2-Finger Touch bei gleichzeitigem doppeltouch mit dem dritten oder so etwas ... Intuitiv ist anders.
