This reminds me of an amusing, but possibly apocryphal tale told me recently by a colleague.
Many years ago apparently, his significant other was involved in the launch of a company formed by the merger of GEC and Plessey. The new company was to be called GPT. When she asked what the company was to be named in France, she was told "GPT of course!"
