Mind the gap

"Mind the gap between the train and the platform", you hear that a lot when traveling on the Tube. If you get off the Central Line at Bank, you really need to pay attention. The gap is huge in the middle of a carriage because the train is straight and the station is curved.

There's a nice anecdote about the voice speaking the words 'Mind the gap'.
London Transport updated the system and changed the voice. The widow of the original speaker was upset about it, and made a plea to restore the original voice:
