vowe 9.0
by Volker Weber
I don't do New Year's resolutions. Neither does Calvin. But I have a theory that one changes every seven years. You are born as 1.0 and when you turn seven, you go to school (2.0). At fourteen you start growing up (3.0). A process you will have mostly completed by version 4.0. There are more milestones, and sometimes you miss them by a few years.
This year saw another change. From being a couch potato to somebody who enjoys exercise. Almost to the day when I turned into 9.0.

I won't do the math but just say congrats, my friend! :)
Dog years! ;-)
It's hard to keep health-related version updates persistent ;-)
Somebody who I adore told me around 15 years ago about an an Asian saying, which is that every 7 years you change your role in life.
Quite interesting to connect the internet life cycles with this.
Not sure, if we should not mix our personal development with the internet counting. It might get irritating.
Scary.
vowe is still a good mother.
It is helpful, though difficult, to remember the difference between how you feel healthy versus not-so-healthy. We tend to adapt to how we feel at the moment, even if we are quite uncomfortable. Remembering the low energy, the difficulty in climbing stairs, etc... helps keep motivation levels up.
Our ability to adapt is a way to hapiness. Love what you have, not what you want to have. Marketing works very hard to break this flexibility.
What I am currently enjoying is our ability to adapt to chaning conditions. I walk more. I get stronger. The stronger I get the more happier I am walking. Workout always seemed to be something that other people did, or needed to do.
The same thing happened with vowe 6.0. I started writing. Never enjoyed that before. Now I cannot not write.
"Now I cannot not write."
I hope this doesn't change before vowe 11.0 ;-)
vowe is a good mother!
And by the way: Happy new year!
At fourteen you start growing up (3.0). A process you will have mostly completed by version 4.0... Dreamer!
I am going to celebrate my 10 year Yoga practice anniversary this year, one of the best changes I’ve ever implemented. I always loved walking.
Keep moving!
Best, Ulli

I know what you mean. But the change between 14 and 21 is profound. Much bigger than between 18 and 25.

re: "Now I cannot not write."
When done correctly, you have to have meaningful things to say anda solid basis to say it from. Both of these take time to develop.
"The true genius shudders at incompleteness — and usually prefers silence to saying something which is not everything it should be." ~Edgar Allan Poe
If you strive for perfection you won't get anything done. Been there, haven't done it.
