Best Lotusphere ever

IBM calls it ConnectED, but everybody else calls it Lotusphere. It was a futile attempt in branding to call it anything else. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. With all the weasel words that IBM is using to disguise their cluelessness on whether to morph it again and maybe fold it into the greater good of Vegas mega-conferences, we all knew this could be the last.

Everything was highly emotional. We hugged, we congregated at our waterholes, we went to sessions, we hugged again, there were ninjas cutting onions at every corner.

Staples coupons, uninspired spaces, #pretzelcookiegate, we could not help but notice where the whole event was cheap.

But we had a blast. I propose a new hashtag: #lotusphere2016

You're so right. Was good seeing you and all the others who made Lotusphere what it was.

#lotusphere2016 - Like ;-)

Marcel Kujat, 2015-01-29 21:21

I expected a sad event - and it turned out to be indeed one of the best Lotuspheres ever. I visited 100% excellent sessions, normally I'm satisfied when I have one or two good sessions a day. No marketing blabla - perfect. Networking with customers, Business Partners and IBMers was inspiring, lots of ideas for this year. This MUST continue !!

Great talking to you Volker.
Agree with all of your comments except one:
Considering the 1000th of misspelled #IBMConnectED hashtags used,
I prefer using #ls16 instead of #lotusphere2016.
My 2c

Forget IBM - let Theo organize it next year as an Engaged US.

I think, we all would be happy.

Theo would do you think?

Detlev Pöttgen, 2015-01-30 14:27

#Lotusphere2016 is OK and better than #ibmconnected. I propose we go back to the origins and use #LS16. #ls15 was used extensively this year. It's fast and easy to write and leaves 10 more characters for content.

David Hablewitz, 2015-01-30 17:26

I agree 100 percent. Hope to see you all next year again!

Ciao Marco

You're brilliant, Volker. Ninja onion slicers. I thought it was just very, very bad allergies causing all the tears. I vote for Theo doing Engage-US! #ls16
