Everybody on IBMverse.com is one big family

Profiles on IBMVerse.com are based on Connections. Which is a tool to be used inside an enterprise. On IBMVerse.com you all belong to one enterprise: IBMVerse.com. Each of the other IBMVerse.com users is your colleague. That means you can view all the information that they have entered in their profile. By default that is their name and their mail address. When you are looking up a profile, the userid is part of the url. Just increment the number and you get to the next profile. Rinse, repeat. That means you can scrape all profiles with a very simple script.
IBM has created the first public mail service where you can look up email addresses for everybody else. And all the profile information they volunteered. It's like Facebook without privacy.

Ah, memories of the scraped Lotusphere address book every year leading to incessant spam. Good to see some parts of IBM never change...
Wow... just wow.
It gets Verse and Verse.
All the files/profiles functions behave as described. Not only file sharing, but network invitations, contact forwarding, directory search etc. It is an open world :-)
Wait for the retort that this is for the enterprise, so the data would be public to those in the enterprise. (Paul checks watch).....

Well, the hostages, err partners, in a Skype chat think this is not a big deal since it happened before in Connections cloud where everybody could see everybody else in all companies. My theory is that those who learned their lesson then have moved on and now the new people need to learn again.
Second verse, worse than the first... I can imagine how they did that (put all of the free accounts into the same org). What I can't imagine is that no one pointed out the problems with doing that. Yikes.
I can not believe that there are companies which choose IBM as their cloud provider. IBM has proofed with IBM Verse aka IBM worse that the have no idea how to create a secure service in the cloud.
So sad to see a company which created such great products in the past in such a bad state.

I am LMAO about how elegant the "Designer Team" marketed themselves so brilliantly within IBM, with no more background than new flat colours on a screen.
