I remember going with my dad to the bank to get a loan so that I could purchase my first mobile cell phone. It cost close to $4,000 USD in the in early 1980s. That sis include installation in my car the the console in the dashboard and the transceiver taking up space in my trunk. Wow. We've come a long way since then.
In Switzerland, there still was the POst&Telefon company in the early 80's, the PTT. I remember my dad buying a Panasonic Mobile phone Natel B at that time, it was already carry-on. In fact a huge battery with a spiral cable and a handle. A few years later, in 1993 to be precise, I bought my first phone, my beloved Siemens S4. It was so cool. You could only call, no text or anything. the the Ericsson T series, battery life for a week! and text and call. then the even more beloved Nokia 3210 etc. Now im on a iPhone with more computing power than a moon mission and dont call anymore (or barely)
Could we have more people like Marty in tech companies please?
