Do it in the morning
by Volker Weber
If you don't have time for a walk at noon, maybe you can walk to work. Or maybe you can get up early and do some exercise. Can't get anything done before coffee? If you exercise in the morning, you won't need the coffee anymore.
It's dark? It's cold? It's wet? Broke a few bones? Yeah, right. Toughen up. :-)

"Broke a few bones?" :) ...I was sorry to see that post of your hand in a cast - and just before Christmas. Hoping the healing is going well.
Yes, I do find morning workouts to be the best. I do, however, still grab a coffee afterward (and on weekends before and after). I was intrigued seeing your pics of the Apple Watch and how it helps with the tracking and motivation regarding fitness. I now feel that I'm the dark ages with my rather old Fitbit, and may start researching more current technologies.
Regarding the "Toughen up", I also like (and say to myself often) the phrase, "Suck it up, Buttercup!"
I must have short legs, I only need 7 km to get to 10,000 steps. :-)
If your stride is only 70 cm, you either have short legs, or you just make very small steps. I believe Usain Bolt only makes 41 steps in the hundred meter dash.
Joe, don't worry too much about the tool. It's the man who makes the difference. And you, Sir, are very motivated.
The other advantage of an early morning run (apart from the dawn choir): http://armingrewe.tumblr.com/post/128830093127/sunrise-over-the-kennet-and-avon-canal
