Apple Music and Sonos run an ad together

by Volker Weber

I honestly don't know what is going on there, but right now I would not be surprised to see Sonos integration at the operating system level in Apple products. Sonos already has a special place on Apple Music:

Well, we might see Apple spending some money and do the Beats gig again with Sonos....?

Jens Nullmeyer, 2016-02-16

No, I don't expect that.

Volker Weber, 2016-02-16

@Jens - I can see why you might think that. Indeed I thought that also, I think they have very similar brand values which makes it easy to image a joining.

@Vowe - I am sure you are right. And I think that because Sonos would not want to. They are in a happy place, why spoil that feeling.

As requested/suggested by "somebody" recently, perhaps the next release of OSX/iOS will be able to play music/send sound direct to any Sonos device on the network. So full iTunes/Apple Music integration with Sonos.....!

Chris Lindley, 2016-02-17

I *love* my Sonos devices and the whole system/concept in my house.
I *hate* the Sonos app. It's clunky, unintuitive and bad UI.

My dream would be Sonos hardware, played through Apple software. Please...

I love my (ever expanding) Sonos setup, and am using Apple Music primary for ease of use with voice commands (Siri). Running/Biking/Car/etc. "Play XYZ artist/station/genre/top songs/year/..." Looking forward to the day I can say "... on Sonos in the Living Room/Backyard/etc." Someday???

"Turning on music is like turning on light" - I disagree, I need time to talk with family and to contemplate - without music.
