Connecting the dots

Three months ago Sonos published a blog post announcing a change of direction:

As we look to the future there are two big areas that we’re leaning into: paid streaming services, and voice control.

Now Amir Afrati writes:

After years of internal debate and discussion about how to do so, the company is preparing to open up Siri to apps made by others. And it is working on an Amazon Echo-like device with a speaker and microphone that people can use to turn on music, get news headlines or set a timer.

Sonos PLAY:5 is a fantastic speaker with two microphones.

But Sonos is moving to slowly :-(

Still waiting for a Sonos Controller App for my Apple Watch ...

So to be blunt... When will Apple buy Sonos?

Andy Mell, 2016-05-25 16:32

Sonos is neither publicly traded, nor for sale, afaik.

I do have a S5 att home. What I don't want is an echo like product at home. While I find the idea itself interesting, the always on mic still creeps me out.

I am hoping for Siri integration into the sonos app itself. But as I understand your post Volket, that might not be the case?!

Don't worry. Nobody is listening, yet.
