DTEK50 Size Comparison

It's pretty hard to see on photos, but the DTEK50 is almost exactly the same size as a Nexus 5x and about half a millimeter thinner. That is a very comfortable size and sits right between the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

147.0 x 72.5 x 7.5 mm | 5.2" | 135 g | DTEK50
147.0 x 72.6 x 7.9 mm | 5.2" | 136 g | Nexus 5x
138.2 x 67.1 x 7.1 mm | 4.7" | 143 g | iPhone 6s
158.2 x 77.9 x 7.3 mm | 5.5" | 192 g | iPhone 6s Plus

Hey Volker

If YOU would need to take the decision, would you buy the DTEK50 or the Nexus 5X today?

Is there a chance you can get hands on on both to compare the pictures taken by either, just like you did with the iPhone and the DTEK50?

Best regards
Johannes

You come here for the truth, right? I would buy an iPhone.

Volker Weber, 2016-07-29

Of course I come for truth, thats why I like reading vowe.net.

...and if you don't want to afford the 300 Euro more? :-)

Johannes Koch, 2016-07-29

I would want. If I wanted and I could not, I would save up until I could.

Although I personally would not buy either one (now), I can still give you the pros for both:

# Nexus 5x
Fingerprint Reader
Hackable
Android Nougat on day one (?)

# BlackBerry DTEK50
Way cheaper than Nexus
SD Card Storage Expansion
Not hackable

Neither has a great camera. But they are both great phones.

DTEK50 lists for 339 €. That price will come down below 300. BlackBerry is throwing in a 12 kAh powerbank for pre-orders to soften the list price.

One of the most important things, why your site is so valuable.

"You come here for the truth, right?"

Right!

Like everything in life, truth is relative 😁
