BlackBerry patches on Mondays

The BlackBerry PRIV STV100-1 received its 05-Aug-2016 security patch last Monday, the first of August. The -1 model is the one sold through Amazon and the BlackBerry store in the US. The EMEA Model is designated STV100-4. It received its update today. Again on a Monday. The July patch was distributed on July, 04. Again a Monday. Do you see a pattern here?

My unlocked PRIV was updated last week and my other three Vodafone PRIV are just downloading the update.
Was a bit worried about the presumed delay between Aug 5 and Aug 8 (i.e. the Nexus LTE issue with august update).
But all is OK, thumbs up to BlackBerry.

Yeah, also got the update today for the PRIV-4, but my Nexus got the August update already last Monday evening. I'm a little bit disappointed ... :-)

Thank your for pointing this whole update mess on Android out. I bought a Moto G 3rd Gen and its patch level is beginning of Jan 2016. It's a shame what's happening on that platform with respect to security in general. In case I ever buy another Android device I will definitely consider a Blackberry device. Security matters, but few people value it. I do.

My Nexus 5X also received the security update for August yesterday. For a split-second I thought that it was already the Nougat update. But it seems I have to wait a little bit longer for that and won't receive it before everyone else. ;)

Der Patch für die 4. Quadrooter-Lücke kam ausnahmsweise diesen Mittwoch/Donnerstag auf das PRIV und das DTEK50.
