Dueling ads :: What is a computer?

by Volker Weber

Intel Core i7 Processor? Full Office instead of app versions? Oh dear. Apple wins this hands down.

I often find myself being able to do a lot more with a Windows 10 Tablet with proper Ports and a filesystem than with my ipads. Maybe that is only me, however.

Hubert Stettner, 2016-08-16

@Hubert - no, same for me.

Martin Imbeck, 2016-08-16

@Hubert and Martin: No, same with me.

Jochen Kattoll, 2016-08-16

Interesting... as a former Microsoftie I feel much more comfortable with the iPad right now. I hardly ever miss any ports as I live in the cloud.

Ingo Seifert, 2016-08-16

It's not about the products. They are both great. The problem is, to make the iPad look bad Microsoft is basically saying their App versions of Office are bad. Which they aren't.

Max Nierbauer, 2016-08-16

Variatio delectat - not everybody has the same needs and preferences. It's great that there are different options out there, and competition is good for progress and innovation.

Jochen Kattoll, 2016-08-16

Max understands. Apple has a great positive ad. Microsoft is a dick.

Volker Weber, 2016-08-16

I am not interested in ads. I am interested in products.

Jochen Kattoll, 2016-08-16

Judging from the title, you may be in the wrong post then.

Volker Weber, 2016-08-16

Fair enough :)

Appears we understood your post obviously in such way that you were not only talking the (admittedly boring) MS ad down but also the product and its specs. And there some of us respectfully disagreed. I would agree on the ads though, now that I finally watched them ... :)

Jochen Kattoll, 2016-08-16

See, we don't have to fight. :-)

Surface is a great product. But Microsoft is so clumsy ...

Volker Weber, 2016-08-16

:)

And thanks again for the recommendation and detailed reviews of the Surface - unübertroffen und unendlich wertvoll!

Jochen Kattoll, 2016-08-17

Yeah, silly, especially when considering that the Office apps on iOS come from Microsoft.

It often looks like ads @ apple being "Chefsache" while at MS any division can push ads to the public.

Frank Quednau , 2016-08-17

Even more silly: I prefer the app versions and run them on Surface.

Volker Weber, 2016-08-17

Watching these two ad's.... made me think of these times.

The Surface Pro is (in my opinion) the better "Computer". But not with the I7 inside. After using the i5 version for several months, i strongly recommend the fanless M3 processor. The fan is a pain in the ass. Ports and filesystem (and the keyboard with touchpad) is a killerfeature for me, but not the horsepower. The ipads (better) powermanagement is here more useful. This is why i still like my iPad Air which is thin and more "robust" with the apple case. Comparing these two devices (which the ad does) is therefore useless.
