Please report your BlackBerry Android security updates

Google is releasing the December patch and I would like to understand when BlackBerry delivers the update to which devices. Please fill out this form when you are receiving your security update. It just takes a few seconds and should work on your phone. This is what I am collecting:

  1. Model
  2. Where you bought it (Carrier, Shop BB, etc)
  3. Android security patch level (date)
  4. Model number
  5. When you installed the update

The first three are mandatory. Number 4 is the more specific answer to number 1.

The results are public and I am not collecting personal information.

Interessant wäre evtl. noch, ob das Gerät im Beta-Programm registriert ist. Denn dann erscheint ein Security Update ggf. früher. So geschehen beim Oktober Update für den Dtek50.

Good idea. Added a few checkboxes.

Habe es mal über BB10QNX geteilt.

Ben Witt, 2016-12-06 15:02

Danke, Ben!

Soll ich das mal bei Crackberry reinstellen?

Ingo Müller, 2016-12-13 13:17

Just received the December security update on my DTEK60, Vodafone Romania.
I will report in the form after I'm checking our PRIV's.

Horia Stanescu, 2016-12-14 03:32

Der Priv Dezemberpatch (Vodafone) ist heute morgen verfügbar gewesen. DTEK50 (Shop Blackberry) steht noch auf Novemberpatchlevel.

Ralph Hammann, 2016-12-14 12:20

not sure if it actually depends on the carrier to update DTEK60.
BB exclusively sells DTEK60 thru distribution. It is not available thru the carriers as of yet, as far as I know.
When I called Voda Germany on Saturday regarding a SIM card problem, the DTEK60 showed up on their end as "unknown device".

Anyway I waited in vain until this morning for the December Android update to be pushed.
Now I just forced the update and that worked.

Wolfgang Bosch, 2016-12-14 12:21

With force you mean dialing *#*#checkin#*#* ?

Volker Weber, 2016-12-14 12:23

Volker, yes that does the trick.
Don't dial, just enter it

Wolfgang Bosch, 2016-12-14 12:54

You can't dial it. It's gone when you press the last *. I still explain it as dialing since people know where the dialer is.

Anyway, I tried this for a week on the PRIV and the update came in yesterday evening.

Ceci n'est pas un blog

I explain difficult concepts in simple ways. For free, and for money. Clue procurement and bullshit detection.
