I love it when IBM delivers on its promise. And it's not one of those Decembers that has 62 days.

Somewhere else i read that Verse on premise requires Domino 9.0.1 FP8.
Estimated release date of FP8 is Q1 2017 (read: March 2017).
So you will be able to download IBM Verse in 2016, but you won't be able to run it ;-)

The plan is to make all components required to run IBM Verse on Premises available this year. We'll know for sure on 30 December 2016.

"Neue Software" mit Java 6 VM als Bestandteil einer wichtigen Sub-Komponente? Funktional kein Thema, aber ...
Och, da gibt es noch ältere Klamotten. IMAP zum Beispiel.
Ich möchte ja gerne ein wenig über Verse lästern aber lasse es lieber.
Mit fast jedem Versuch den die IBM im Bereich Collaboration unternimmt schafft sie es aus meiner Sicht kaum noch echte neue Kunden anzulocken. Bleiben also die Bestandskunden, welche der IBM sowieso schon zu wenig erscheinen, und von denen gehen dann manche den Trend mit, andere lassen ihn links liegen oder gehen gleich woanders hin.
IBM Verse mag ja vielleicht ein spannender Ansatz sein (ich habe mir nicht die Mühe gemacht die Versuche selbst auszuprobieren) aber letztendlich dürfte sich die Anzahl der Interessenten welche sich nach einer neuen E-Mail Lösung sehnen inzwischen in Grenzen halten.
Der Launch scheint zumindest gut gemanaged, auch wenn ich, wenn ich betrachte was die IBM zuletzt im Notes und Domino Umfeld als "Fixpack" erachtet schon leicht ins Schwitzen komme.
We had a prototype using ODA, RxJava and Vert.x that required Java8 (I did build it using a standalone JVM running besides Domino). We might get back to those components in a future release.
What you will get on Dec 30 runs on good ol' Java6.
well, but will IBM deliver what they promised, or to be more precisely, what the remaining customers expect?
A feature list would be interesting...delegation...calendaring...ST integration...mail in database support...
The features of Verse on Premises as shipping this month match Verse cloud as shipping this month. Delegation is on the 1H2017 plan; ST integration will come in a subsequent update. Mail in databases are an interesting question - we don't have the concept in the cloud, but do on the installed server. Will have to find out an answer on this.
