Everytime I shut down Windows, I get this error message. Should I be concerned or just ignore it?

I have the same message on a dell venue 8 Pro (3845) it always appears at shutdown since the last windows updates so it might be related to that but I'm not sure. It always shuts down so I'm currently ignoring the problem because it is a secondary device.

"Have you checked your computers to see if the disable auto-hide taskbar option on desktop option is turned off? With almost no exception, disabling that option seems to stop the error messages and explains why most computers, apparently with that option already turned off as the default setting, don't show the error message, while others with the option turned on, do show it."

This message box, at its core, is oooold. I have seen similar ones over the years. When they happened at shutdown or even at startup I could usually ignore it as a mere nuisance.

Andy, your Google Foo is better than mine. Unfortunately, that odd setting is set correctly and I still get the message. I have however messed around with the taskbar, moving it to the right, changing width and such, before going back to the default. Maybe that has messed up Windows enough to run into this error.

Does this error show up in the Windows Event viewer? That may give you more information about what is causing the failure.

Shutdown!? I just wait until it crashes. :)

Shutdown? For updates only ... otherwise my system is either on or in standby. The bespoke error message (which looks familiar to me) is one of the reasons why I treat my Windows machine like that. In addition, Windows is still (even with SSD) way to slow at startup (W7 64 professional company image).
