On June 20th of last year I missed my daily move goal by 3 calories and broke the chain. I picked it up the next day and today it got a new link. 225 to get to one thousand.

I am not walking much right now, only about 5000 to 7000 since my knee was suffering four weeks ago. Joints take a long time to recover. Bicycle it is for now, and exercise at home.

In the iOS 11 beta ( including the public beta ) there seems to be a new July Challenge appearing alongside the usual month move badge. From what I can tell it looks like an exercise number of minutes goal for the full month. Mine is set to 2519 minutes as the goal which works out at about 80 minutes a day. I guess this is why it is a beta :)

Also the 100, 365, 500 move goal badges now show how much progress you have made so you can work out how close you are to your next goal.

I have not seen any mention of this new challenge anywhere yet in beta reviews.

Well, that's awesome!
I joined my personal #Dontbreakthechain program 12 days ago which means that I'm in a twelve day streak now.
What pushed the button for me was Volker's recent blogpost and his statement that habits are stronger than goals. So, I bought a Mi band 2, set myself an achievable step-goal and started the chain.
Although my step goal is quite low, it's sometimes hard to achieve. I'm one of those suit-wearing (mostly) office dudes, sitting at the desk, in meetings, excel-ing, mailing, making phone calls and so on.
But it already changed by habits. I use the stairs more often, I walk around while making phone calls - just to "collect steps".
My two young children keep me in motion when I come home.

As I said, I have a daily step-goal, but I set myself a fallback-goal on a weekly base that is 8/7x the daily goal. With that I can keep the chain alive by overcompensating once I might break the daily goal. Plus I have to go the extra mile, eg. at the weekend.

Long story short: I started to change my habits, I started my personal chain, thank you Volker for the inspiration. Again, you're good mother ;-)
