Stupid is who stupid does

by Volker Weber

In the year 2018, nobody expected human society would need an intervention to stop people from eating (drinking?) laundry detergent. And yet, actual thinking people are recording themselves consuming Tide Pods, which inspires others to follow suit on camera, begetting an endless cycle of Darwinian consequences. According to CNN, YouTube and Facebook have committed to taking down this content, proving so many critics of the internet right.

If this had happened just two years ago, the US might have elected its first female president.

and if it had happened only within the democrats it would have been Bernie Sanders.

Does not compute.

I think that it's most likely that the stupid people are evenly distributed (politically).

Craig Wiseman, 2018-01-19

That is always a good assumption until you find evidence to the contrary.

And once this fad is over the next stupid challenge (possibly even more dangerous) will come up. Cinnamon challenge, Neknominate, fire challenge, they just keep coming.

Armin Grewe, 2018-01-20

There's a great Ricky Gervais quote along the same lines with regard to Brexit and a second referendum (paraphrased as I cannot find this online). "People are so stupid you need 'do not drink' on bottles of bleach. Let's remove the warning for two years, then have another referendum."

Chris Lindley, 2018-01-20

There is a reason May does not want another referendum now. Some people have already wisened up a bit.
