Apple products that are coming and some that disappeared

In no particular order:
- Three new iPhone X: a refresh of the existing iPhone X with newer technology called Xs, a larger one the size of the old iPhone Plus now called Xs Max, because it has a larger display than any other iPhone before. And the all new Xr, which I would now view as the new standard option. Same newer technology like the A12 Bionic inside, but an LCD screen instead of AMOLED, no zoom lens, no 3D touch, but still capable of portrait shots with a single lens.
- iPhone 6S and iPhone SE are gone. So are headphone jacks. As are headphone jack adapters. I never used mine.
- iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 continue to be available as more affordable options. Both are great. iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S continue to get a software update to iOS 12. I am running it on an iPhone 6 and it is much better/faster than iOS 11.
- Apple Watch Series 4 is huge. See next post. Apple Watch Series 1 is gone. The more affordable option is now Series 3. Apple Watch Edition is gone as well. No more ceramic version. Watch Hermès continues to be the variant for people who would like to spend more.
- New gold color option for the iPhone X and Apple Watch Steel. It's not my cup of tea, but I can see a market.
- No show: AirPower. I think it was too ambitious. Apple will have learned a lesson to only announce what they can build.
vowe's choice: iPhone XS Max and Watch Series 4. Both in stainless steel. 'Max or not' is difficult, but I can manage a Plus, so I can manage a Max, just for having that huge display.
Silly season is almost over. The experts did not get their iPad Pros and their Macbooks. They will come, only in a separate event. iPhone is Apple's most important product. They don't divert attention from it by announcing less important products alongside. And that should tell you something. Apple Watch is way more important than you think.
And yes, you can now buy an iPhone for 1649 €.

Ansonsten sehr schön. Letztes Jahr habe ich ja noch gezuckt. Aber so ein iPhone X’s Max des Displays wegen...
Apple Pay kommt mit einer einfachen Pressemeldung. Nachdem iOS 12 ausrollt.

Was mich am Meisten überrascht hat, und zwar leider im Negativen, ist die Preisgestaltung der iPhones. Es war ja spekuliert worden, dass das iPhone Xs soviel wie ein iPhone 8 und das iPhone Xs Max soviel wie das iPhone X kosten würde.
Das Verrückte ist, dass der Markt dies zu akzeptieren scheint und sich die neuen iPhones wohl wieder wie geschnitten Brot verkaufen werden...
Ich denke auch, dass sie das werden. Die Vergangenheit hat aber gezeigt, dass das sehr langlebige und werthaltige Produkte sind. Wer heute so etwas kauft, kann es auch in fünf Jahren noch nutzen (können). Oder sie werden von Mensch zu Mensch weitergegeben.
Ich erwarte übrigens, dass das iPhone Xr der eigentliche Kracher wird. Das ist der smarte Kauf. Kann alles, was wichtig ist und ist kaum zu unterscheiden von den Xs-Modellen.
Langlebigkeit und Wiederverkaufswert sind natürlich Argumente, die ich auch immer heranziehe, wenn ich Apple Produkte kaufe, aber wo sind die Grenzen?
Ist es nicht absurd, dass ich einen iMac günstiger bekomme, als ein iPhone Xs Max?
Das iPhone Xr ist mir auch 100€ zu teuer...
Watch series 4 in stainless steel? Thought you go for the alu version? Why the move to stainless steel?
I have had a stainless steel, an aluminium and a ceramic one. I liked the stainless steel best.
Axel, Du wirst überrascht sein, wie teuer Bikinis sein können. :-) Ein "iMac Xs Max" kostet übrigens 8000 Euro. Für die allermeisten Leute wird ein 64 GB Xr perfekt sein und das kostet immerhin auch schon 849 Euro.
"XS Max" hat ja schon was dämliches. "XS XXL" wäre ja wenigstens lustig gewesen. Oder wollte ein Marketing-Kasper in Richtung "Excess to the max"?
I really like the XR - specially the battery life. But it's a shame it doesn't come with Gigabit LTE.
