Having a young pilot in the family, we followed this story with interest. I believe it was her very first solo flight.

no, it was not her first solo flight, but her first solo cross country flight. Doesn't make that much of a difference, but it is one. She had only 60 hours flight experience. If it would have been her first solo flight at all, her instructor would have been present on ground. In this case they have to fetch them first, as you have heard on the video.
