Some good news on the Android updates
by Volker Weber
Motorola one has started picking up security updates and BlackBerry Key2 also caught up. Both are now on the October update. Lars reports he is very satisfied with his Samsung Galaxy A5:
I am still very pleasantly surprised with my Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017). Charges really fast over USB-C, uses little power, and is kept uptodate with security patches. just this morning received a security update, and it reports a kernel built October 18, 3.18.14, Android security patch of 1 October 2018.
Given that it's only 240 EUR, is waterproof and has a headphone jack, I am a very happy customer. I acquired it in November 2017.
Samsung is pretty consistent with security updates, especially with devices that are part of their Enterprise program.
Comments
we have A6 here, thought they were enterprise as well?
kernel july 18
security patch july 18
and micro-usb… :-(
Details siehe hier:
My Motorola Z2 Play received the October update about a week ago.
It received the Android 8 update in early June, so I'm hoping for the Android 9 update by spring 2019.
My Nokia 6.1 migrated to Android 9 with the October security update last night.
