The Apple Watch keeps me hooked

The Galaxy S10 is really, really good. I could use this as my daily driver in a heartbeat. It's 2015 all over again. That was when I tried the Galaxy S6 edge and liked it very much. The thing I like best this time around is how you can switch between "tele", wide angle and super wide. iPhone does not have super wide. Everything else plays on the same level.

But the Galaxy S10 does not stand a snowball's chance in hell to switch me over. You can see the reason here:

Marques is an Android user. He likes Android, he loves the Pixel 3 camera. But he also carries an iPhone. You can see him wearing an Apple Watch in this photo, and I am pretty sure this is not a paid endorsement. Apple Watch might be one reason he needs the iPhone, the other one certainly being iMessage. If he were to use only an iPhone, he would have much less to talk about.

Since I would rather give up a smartphone than the Apple Watch, it is pretty clear that I could only be switched over if somebody make a vastly superior product to the Apple Watch. And that is very, very unlikely. As unlikely as me carrying two phones all the time.

That does not mean I cannot see the beauty in competing products. The Galaxy S10 is beautiful. Everything works really well, including the new fingerprint sensor in the display. I like the fact they are still keeping the headphone jack, even if I don't ever use it. The new Samsung UI, also on older phones now, is much better than the old one. And you can tailor it to your needs. In my case, almost everything is stock Android, and I did not run into Bixby once, since I used a bxActions, a third party tool, to disable the extra button completely.

Bixby now sort of works with the German language. If you do want to go all in on Samsung, now you can.

Verdammte first world problems...
