Great read and I was exactly wondering about these things when I recently setup a couple of Apple devices for my 75-yo dad. In my opinion, if someone came up with some great ideas for this ever growing market, he or she will make a fortune...
Indeed, many devices designed for the not so nimble on their feet are appalling. May be easy to clean, but that should not be the main design criteria. Already a touch of colored tape makes all the difference, some put bells and whistles. But those who can not afford the stylish carbon walker with red wheels, should not be condemned (by medical insurance buyers) to the plain ugly medical style that is so abundand in orthopedic shops.
