Jabra Evolve2 85 :: First sighting
by Volker Weber
Frank already has what I have been waiting for since late April, the Jabra Evolve2 85 noise cancelling headset with foldout microphone boom. Sweet. And ex-pen-sive.

I'm looking forward to your review of these... I've spent the last two years trying to find a worthy successor to the Plantronics Focus - a comfortable (i.e. suitable to wear pretty much all day), great sounding bluetooth headset that has ANC in both directions and can be connected to at least two devices simultaneously. Everything I've tried has been lacking features, been uncomfortable, or has just felt cheap and easily-breakable compared to the Focus.
Hoping the Evolve2 85s fits the bill!
Since I already know both parts of the equation, boom from Engage2 65 and cans from Elite 85h, I am pretty sure if works well. However, it will not be as comfortable as Focus is. Focus does not have very good ANC though and I think that PNC on the 65 is not that different.
There is a tradeoff with both inbound and outbound ANC. Aggressive ANC outbound makes the voice sound artificial. Jabra is less aggressive than PLT and sounds more natural. Aggressive inbound ANC can cause discomfort for some wearers. I am not prone to that, so I can dial up ANC on any headset to max. Some headsets lets you adjust the level of inbound ANC. Jabra does not, at least not on the Elite 85h. It is either on or off.
I had a very good experience with the Bose NC700, which I have since returned to the agency. ANC worked well both ways.
