Long blogpost about plans for Windows. One thing strikes me:
You will see us be more intentional about how and where Copilot integrates across Windows, focusing on experiences that are genuinely useful and well‑crafted. As part of this, we are reducing unnecessary Copilot entry points, starting with apps like Snipping Tool, Photos, Widgets and Notepad.
How do you say “we are removing AI slop” without saying it? Do not integrate Copilot across Windows. Keep it a separate thing. An optional separate thing you have to ask for. Even better: make it a separate thing users have to buy and install.
I don’t think the taskbar is the most pressing thing Microsoft needs to fix. And as far as Widgets and Discovery Feed are concerned: I turn these off at first sight. Don’t improve the junk. Remove it.
