I would not let any of these icons near my devices. You could write a book about all the bad decisions this company made. Actually, somebody already did.

But that expression is far too mild for this ruthless company. Billions of people are being deceived by them.
People are too stupid to drop WhatsApp.
WhatsApp: I’d rather not.
Alas, people hub my social groups in WA groups, delete the Signal app from their phones without deleting their Signal account, look at me strangely when I add them to a Signal group asking me whether this can’t be a WA group and so on and so on.
Similarities exist to wanting to consume music at a streaming service not called Spotify.
Life’s complicated.
It’s not complicated. You delete your WhatsApp account and then you delete the WhatsApp app.
For many people, a smooth integration in their social circles is much more important than principles. In many areas, if you don’t want to be seen as a total weirdo it will be hard to convince people. Maybe you can do this but most people can’t.
Especially if that also could radiate to your kids and they will be seen as outsiders.
If it always only were so easy.
People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it.
True.
And at the same time: People doing it, should not tell other people that this shows everyone can do it.
I‘m sure you have a better idea how to facilitate change than by showing it can be done.

Yup. And since if you don’t want that, you start boycotting before it is too late.
