This Plantronics Voyager 5200 UC is a one-of-a-kind headset. It wraps around your ear, has a long microphone boom and a voice isolation which stands above everything else. You can be standing next to a jackhammer in six Beaufort, and you will still be perfectly understandable. It’s light and comfortable and can be worn outside without drawing too much attention.
However, there was a problem. In recent years it stopped working if exposed to too much noise and your voice would sound like rubbish until you restarted the headset. It was a hardware issue, not a software one, which we quickly found out when we started comparing different devices on the same software.
Here is the good news: Poly has changed the hardware and I can once again recommend this device. If your in-warranty headset has this problem, it’s now time to engage with Poly support to get it replaced. It’s also safe to buy new ones. How do you know, you have a new model? Check the DATE CODE on the packaging. If it says FEB-22 or newer, you are safe. These codes are always three months in the future. A FEB-22 device was manufactured in November 2021. Post-dating the code allows Poly to be generous with warranty claims.
Im August 2021 hatte ich bei Amazon bereits mein drittes Exemplar Plantronics Voyager gekauft. Die ersten beiden waren verloren gegangen. Das letzte hatte nun die beschriebenen massiven Verbindungsprobleme.
Vor kurzem habe ich beim Amazon Kundensupport angerufen (2 Jahre Gewährleistung für das Produkt) und kurz den Fehler beschrieben. Sie haben kurzerhand angeboten, dass ich das Headset einschicke und beim ersten Scan eine Rückerstattung bekomme. Bingo, das hat funktioniert. Das nenne ich Kulanz und Kundenfreundlich. Bin mir nicht sicher, ob das an Amazon, oder an Poly liegt oder an beiden.
Nun habe ich heute über deinen Amazon-Link die neuen Voyager 5200 bestellt. Das Headset ist in seiner Sprachqualität und Art wirklich herausragend. Danke für die vielen Tips!
