No, I have changed my settings quite intentionally and you destroyed them. F/U.

Since Edge became such a nuisance I switched to Brave on all machines.

  1. Es ist schon amüsant, mit welcher Selbstverständlichkeit in den eigenen PC eingegriffen wird.

    *das amüsante ist: Vermutlich hätte MS das aus eigener Perspektive ebenfalls genauso schreiben können. 🙄 Da kommt dann halt noch ein „durch den Nutzer“ dazu.

  2. Wow. Bad software is one thing, but unreliable software is a different ballpark.

    How long until MS starts to remove config options — is there already a bet for this on Polymarket?

  3. Happened to me as well today. Best (worst) part is they don’t even tell you what they changed. There was a link “to check the settings” but that just … opens the convoluted settings page for you to find out by yourself what they messed up.

    Oh, I just fired it up again and it looked like it it removed all my default startup pages.
    But upon closer inspection turns out it didn’t remove my default startup pages, it now just chooses to ignore them.

    So now it’s useless even for the niche use I had for it. Spectacular.

  4. Luckily there are alternatives… – on my last remaining Winslop machine I made Edge disappear – some tools can really de-install it and prevent it from coming back (at least for some time I hope…)
