Apple has released new AirPods firmware for iOS 27. It installs on all AirPods from AirPods 4, AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Max 2. The current version number is 9A348.
Two important updates: custom EQ (see above) and custom adaptive ANC with a slider that lets you dial in the amount of ANC you want (see below).
To install the update, listen to some music for 30 seconds, put the AirPods back in the case, then lock the iPhone and keep both close together.
