Lenovo hat bei Laptops zwei Seiten: Commercial und Consumer. Commercial liefert Commercial Vantage, Consumer liefert Vantage. Commercial Vantage ist eine sehr nützliche Software, die viele interessante Informationen liefert. Vantage dagegen will dir nur was verkaufen. Das eine kann man gebrauchen, das andere will man löschen.
Und dann kommt immer wieder mal eine Maschine von Consumer, die mich absolut überzeugt. Aktuell ist das der Yoga Slim 7x mit Snapdragon. Für mich der perfekte Laptop. Leider nicht mit Commercial Vantage.

This was difficult to capture. Copilot was updated today through the Microsoft Store and now displays a message for a split second. Copilot stores our conversation to train its AI model and to “learn about my interests”.
It is basically the opposite of what Microsoft tells its customers. This is the only option in settings:
Copilot is like IBM Watson. The label gets slapped onto lots of diverse products. I am talking about Copilot as loaded in Windows if you hit the Copilot key on Copilot+ PCs. ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable – das ist ein langer Name und ein langer Bildschirm. Ich liebe diese Konzeptstudien, die Lenovo tatsächlich auch baut und verkaufen wird. Wenn man die Rückseite anschaut, dann ahnt man, wie das funktioniert:
Dieses ThinkBook wird es erst im Sommer geben und aktuell plant Lenovo einen Kaufpreis von 2799 Eur plus MWSt. Bis dahin fließt noch viel Wasser den Rhein herunter.
Wer statt einem rollbaren Bildschirm lieber gleich zwei OLED Monitore haben will, den bedient Lenovo seit letztem Jahr schon mit dem Yoga Book 9i, das es ab sofort in einer neuen Generation gibt. Das Gerät hat mir sehr gut gefallen, mich hat nur die extra zu transportierende Tastatur etwas genervt. Beim Zuklappen passt sie nicht rein.
Beim ThinkPad X9 gibt es eine kleine Revolution: Kein TrackPoint mehr. Das wird die Geister scheiden. Vor 25 Jahren war er den Rollerballs und TouchPads überlegen, aber ich benutze die schon lange nicht mehr, seit ich zehn Jahre lang MacBooks verwendet habe. Helles Gehäuse kenne ich schon vom X1 Yoga, aber nun gibt es das auch beim X9. Das Gerät hat die zusätzliche Bezeichnung Aura Edition, ein Intel-Marketingbegriff für Copilot+ PCs mit Intel CPU.
Auf der Unterseite der X9 Laptops kommt ein sogenannter Engine-Hub zum Einsatz, in dem Lenovo die Lüfter und Schnittstellen unterbringt. Gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber wahrscheinlich höchst sinnvoll.
Das sind nur drei von mehr als 50 Produkten, die Lenovo angekündigt hat. Das ganze Bilderbuch von Neuerungen durchzublättern, ist mir immer eine ganz besondere Freude zum Jahresanfang.
Mich interessieren halt immer die besonderen und damit oft auch besonders teuren Gerätschaften. Mit 429 Eur plus MWSt hat es mir aber auch ein kleiner Desktop angetan. ThinkCentre neo 50q QC lautet der etwas sperrige Name für einen winzigen Rechner mit Snapdragon Chipset und Copilot+.
Mein persönlicher Favorit bleibt zunächst der Yoga Slim 7x mit Snapdragon Chipset. Toller Bildschirm, herausragende Leistung sowohl bei Geschwindigkeit als auch bei Batterielaufzeit. Ich befürchte, dass die Auras nur eins von beiden gleichzeitig können, freue mich aber, wenn ich es eines Besseren belehrt werde.
One comment made me think for quite some time: “This is literally the Microsoft Copilot pitch.” First you have AI create a beautiful artifact in Powerpoint et. al., then you waste other people’s time, and they evade your move by letting AI boil it down to the essentials.
