10.2 bringt eine Funktion zurück, die mit 10.0 kassiert wurde: Durch einfaches Wischen kann man das Zifferblatt wechseln. Das muss einmal aktiviert werden unter Settings/Clock respektive Einstellungen/Uhr direkt auf der Apple Watch.
Diese Woche hat motorola angekündigt, die Geräte edge40 neo und razr40 ultra wahlweise in PANTONE 13-1023 “Peach Fuzz” anzubieten. Die Farbe spricht mich gar nicht an wurde aber als Farbe des Jahres 2024 designiert.
Die 2023er Farbe dagegen gefällt mir so gut, dass ich ein motorola edge30 fusion in mein Museum aufnehmen würde. Das knallt.
Microsoft announced during its Build 2023 developer keynote on May 24 that it will finally allow users to disable the Microsoft News feed that’s found in Windows 11’s widgets board via an update coming later this year, finally offering a layout that only shows your widgets.
Currently, the widgets board on Windows 11 doesn’t have an option to turn off the MSN feed, meaning your widgets are mixed with news and video stories pulled in from the Microsoft News website.
It’s now December, and I still cannot switch off this junk. My only option is to disable widgets alltogether. This force feeding of your content has poisened Bing, which used to be beautiful and useful, and now even Edge.
Suggestion: remove MSN content from all Microsoft products and then remove MSN personell from Microsoft. They have the reverse Midas touch.

Das sind die besten Pferde in meinem Stall, was Bluetooth-Kopfhörer angeht. Shure AONIC 50 und Apple AirPods Max. Und ich benutze den Shure vor allem, weil ich ihn auch per Klinkenkabel an Audio-Interfaces anschließen kann.
Den Shure habe ich schon ein paar Monate länger, aber er hat viel mehr gelitten als der AirPods Max. Die Ohrpolster sind angegriffen und das Headband habe ich auch bereits einmal geklebt. Der AirPods Max dagegen wirkt auch nach drei Jahren immer noch wie neu.
Shure hat mittlerweile einen AONIC 50 Gen 2 herausgebracht, aber ein Test hat mich nicht von den neuen Features überzeugt. Solange es noch den AONIC 50 der ersten Generation gibt, würde ich mir den Aufpreis sparen. Beide bleiben für mich die erste Wahl, sobald man sich außerhalb der Apple-Welt bewegt.
Mit Apple-Geräten allerdings legt der AirPods Max noch einen drauf. Perfekte Haptik, ein überzeugendes Bedienkonzept und ein unvergleichlicher Klang machen mir jeden Tag neue Freude, auch nach drei Jahren.
Der Benks AirPods Max Ständer übrigens auch.
Dominik hat mir zwei Modelle meisterhaft gedruckt und per DHL geschickt. Die MagSafe-Lader und USB-Netzteile hatte ich schon. Perfekt! Vielen Dank. Sehr charmant fand ich auch die mitgedruckte Widmung.
Anfang November bekam das vivo X90 Pro ein Update auf Funtouch 14, das auf Android 14 aufbaut. Das ist für einen OEM ziemlich fix. Das Security Update war noch auf dem Stand 05. Oktober, aber das ist bei einem Major Upgrade nicht ungewöhnlich. Mit dem Datum 05 werden immer die vollständigen Updates gekennzeichnet.
Die nur wenig älteren X80 Pro (Spargutschein beachten!) und X60 Pro sind bereits auf dem Stand 01. November. Das X51, mit dem vivo in Deutschland überhaupt erst an den Start ging, hängt auf 01. September. Es wurde zweimal von Android 10 auf Android 11 und Android 12 aktualisiert. Ich bin gespannt, ob da jetzt dreimonatige Updates kommen oder ob es nach drei Jahren zum alten Eisen gehört.
Insgesamt hat sich bei Android-Geräten die Unterstützung mit Updates verbessert, sieht man mal vom Billigsegment ab.

Windows 11 maintains itself well. If you just put the machine to sleep it takes care of everything.
The only work I have to do now is to roll back all the junk that Microsoft adds to Windows. Bing was the first victim, then Edge, now Windows itself.

Solche Enterprise-Geräte findet man nicht in Mediamarkt & Co. Das ist eine eigene Vertriebsschiene. Wenn sie dann doch mal bei Amazon auftauchen, sind sie etwas teurer als die Consumer-Geräte.
Ich habe jede Menge Earbuds und Kopfhörer, die aus meinen Tests stammen. Die spannende Frage ist, welche ich davon dauernd nutzen. Das sind nicht notwendigerweise auch die, die ich zum Kauf empfehle. Es ist einfach eine Auswahl ohne Berücksichtigung des Preises.

We believe the RCS Universal Profile will offer a better interoperability experience when compared to SMS or MMS. This will work alongside iMessage, which will continue to be the best and most secure messaging experience for Apple users.
It probably does not matter so much in WhatsApp land, but supporting RCS and not only SMS in iMessage is a welcome change. “Later next year” sounds like “after iOS 18 ships” but maybe Apple can make this happen earlier.
Operating on standards is preferable to providing Apple software on other platforms (“iMessage for Android”). You only have to look at the sorry state of Apple Music on Windows to see how hard Apple can fail. You can no longer access it on iTunes, and the only other options are previews of a website and an application they can’t seem to get to release status.

Dreimal Outlook. Which is which? Outlook (PWA) ist eine Browser-App, hier von Brave Browser. Outlook ist ein Windows Binary aus Microsoft 365. Outlook (new) ist die Ablösung von Mail & Calendar aus Windows 11. Diese App ist der designierte Nachfolger für das alte Windows Binary (und das für Mac).
Outlook (neu) ist eine PWA. Die braucht eine Server-Komponente und sei es nur als Cache. Wenn du einen fremden Account, der nicht bei Microsoft gehostet ist, darin anzeigen willst, muss Microsoft erst mal die Mail aus deinem Postfach abrufen.
Bei mir liegt das Postfach auf outlook.com und ist für Outlook (neu) sofort verarbeitbar. Das gilt genauso für alle Postfächer in Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online).
Wenn man ein GMail-Postfach hinzufügen will, dann sagt Microsoft deutlich an, dass sie dort die Mail holen werden. Wer das nicht will, sollte Outlook (neu) nicht einsetzen. Dann wird es einfacher sein, das GMail-Interface als PWA zu speichern.
Das mache ich bei Outlook.com auch, bis Microsoft die Anmeldung gebacken bekommt.
